Builth is situated on a very pretty stretch of the River Wye (see photo 1) next to the Royal Welsh Show Ground. Apart from being a nice place to visit in its self it is an ideal "rest stop" on long journeys.

On the map:

• The coloured road leaving the map at the centre top is the A470 to Rhayader.
• The coloured road at the top right is the A483 for Llandrindod Wells.
• Hay Road is the A470 for Brecon and South Wales.
• Garth Road is the A483 to Llanwrtyd Wells.

Tourist Information, Parking and Toilets

Next to the Tourist Information Centre is the main car park (small) and a set of public toilets.

Parks and Playgrounds

There is a pleasant park area next to the main car park (see above). This has an enclosed playground which has apparatus to suit all ages. The park also has buggy friendly walks along the river.

Shops and Eating

The shops are mainly along High Street. These are small local shops but does include grocers. There are also several cafes in the shopping area, we like "The Drovers". A "Little Chef" is by the roundabout on Station Road (shown as North Road on the map).
