Rainy Days

  • The Machynlleth area is particularly good as there is King Arthur's Labyrinth, Machinations and a swimming pool.
  • In Aberystwyth try the swimming pool, Ceredigion Museum and the Commodore Cinema. See Aberystwyth.
  • In the countryside around Aberystwyth try the Cwm Rheidol Visitors Centre, the Cwm Rheidol Hydro-Electric Power Station and the Magic of Life Butterfly House. See Aberystwyth for details on these. Also try the scenic drive from Ponterwyd to Talybont to see the Nant-y-moch reservoir which powers the Cwm Rheidol Power Station. See Drives for details.
  • Try a scenic drive in the Elan Valley, a visit to the Elan Valley Visitors Centre, swimming at Rhayader Swimming Pool or a visit to the Gilfach Nature Reserve Visitors Centre (details for all of these are on the Rhayader and the Elan Valley page). For a different museum experience visit the National Cycle Collection and for some vigorous play try "Quackers Indoor Play Centre" (see Llandrindod Wells).
