Aberdovey (Aberdyfi in Welsh) is a picturesque seaside town with superb golden sand beaches (see photo 1).

Tourist Information

The Tourist Information Centre is in Wharf Gardens on Sea View Terrace (shown as Terrace Road on the map) next to the jetty (phone: 01654 767321). For more information on the town see the following general websites:

Parking and Toilets

The main car park is a large pay and display which is on the sea front near the Tourist Information Centre. There is also some limited road parking in this area as well.

The public toilets are situated between the Tourist Information Centre and the main car park. The toilets are very basic.

Beaches

The excellent golden sand beaches in Aberdovey are the main reason we go there. The most convenient beach is next to the main car park (see above). This beach is very close to the toilets, cafes and shops. It is also an excellent place to collect shells.

Playgrounds

There is a small playground at the end of the main car park (see above) furthest from the Tourist Information Centre. The playground boasts a helter-skelter slide that our kids adore.

Shops and Eating

Aberdovey's shops and cafes mainly cater for tourists and are concentrated in the area from the Tourist Information Centre to the far end of the main car park (see above). The shops however do include a chemist.
